Le Coq Sportif Provencale

Friday, July 29th, 2011

Legendary French brand Le Coq Sportif have enjoyed a bit of a resurgence over the last year or so and this looks set to continue with the latest incarnation of the popular Provencale silhouette.

Taking inspiration from the French game of Petanque, or boules, the Provencale utilises premium materials throughout. The design and branding have been kept to a minimum, with the metallic button on the side of the upper paying reference to the metal boules used in the classic French pastime and the detailing on the heel a nod to the braces worn by the older generation who embrace the sport.

If this release is anything to go by, we predict big things for the French brand over the coming months.

Available in both a low and mid version, the Provencale releases from selected size? stores and online on Wednesday 3rd August.

Reebok ‘Reethym Of Lite’ launch party

Friday, July 29th, 2011

Last week Reebok put on a party to launch their latest campaign, ‘Reethym Of Lite’. The event, held in New York’s Escape Space, was attended by some of music’s elite including, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Pharrell, Beyonce, Noreaga & Alicia Keys and was the perfect environment to welcome new Creative Director, Swizz Beatz, to the brand.

Reebok inspired cocktails were on the bill, courtesy of Hennessy Black, and guests were treated to performances by Kamikaze creator Beatz alongside special guest Lloyd banks.

Judging by the photos from the night and new TV ad ‘International Party’, we’re expecting big things this year from both Reebok and Swizz.

Shout out to Sneaker Freaker and Freshnessmag for the snaps.

Nike All Court Mid Premium

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

As the name would suggest, the Nike All Court Mid is a versatile court shoe originally designed for a number of different court sports, including tennis, squash, basketball and racketball. The lightweight all-rounder was first released in 1975 and shares close resemblance to the ever-popular Nike Blazer silhouette.

One of the most noticeable and key features on the shoe is the vulcanized rubber toe guard, which was designed to add extra durability and protection to the toe box of the shoe.

Over the last year or so the All Court has had a bit of a resurgence due to its relatively low-key branding and classic design aesthetics, however, All Courts Mid’s have been pretty few and far between.

New for autumn/winter 2011, we’re proud to announce the release of two size? worldwide exclusive Nike All Court Mid Premiums. Both colourways feature supple premium leather uppers on top of a clean white autoclave sole unit and are limited to just 500 pairs.

Available from size? stores and online from Friday (29th July).

Swizz Beatz: an insight into hip-hop’s rising star

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

US producer/rapper Swizz Beatz is a busy man. Between lacing crossover hits/”club bangers”, tearing down stages, re-imagining corporate brands and moonlighting as a collage professor, the Ruff Ryder prodigy has a lot going on at the moment.

After trawling the internet last night we came across this interesting interview, in which, ‘Mr. Alicia Keys’ talks about his passion and goals in the music scene, his love for art, his work with Reebok, and in particular, his Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze collaborations.

To see the interview in full, head to The Madbury Club.

adidas Originals Forest Hills

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Named after the world famous Forest Hills Tennis Centre in Queens, New York, the adidas Originals Forest Hills Was first produced in the 1970’s and used Nasa designed technology to help it become the lightest shoe ever released at the time, weighing in at just 250g!

The original, and in our opinion the best, colourway was soon adopted by the rising casual scene throughout the late 70’s and early 80’s because of it’s eye-catching sunshine outsole, metallic gold stripes and supple white leather upper and is being re-released as part of the worldwide size? exclusive Adi’s Archive collection.

This much anticipated/talked about release is one not to be missed and will only be available from selected stores this Saturday (23rd July) and online from Friday 29th July.

Don’t sleep on it!
