As an alternative take on the usual Olympic activities planned by other brands over the coming weeks, Converse today announced the launch of their ‘Represent’ campaign. Essentially a series of free music events taking place at London famous 100 Club over the course of the first two weeks on the Games, ‘Represent’ is designed to allow fans & artists to represent their music and celebrate music diversity at the longest running popular music venue in the world. This campaign is big! From July 30th to August 10th, Converse will bring ‘Represent’ to life though unique live music experiences. With headline acts to include Plan B, Nas, Paul Weller, Spiritualized, Toots and The Maytals, SBTRKT, UK Subs, Santigold, Overkill, Kano, John Talabot, Django Django, Best Coast and other special guests, the free concert series will present nine gigs, featuring a total of 45 notable artists who have helped shape the global music landscape of the past, present and future. All the gigs take place in the tightly packed setting of London’s 100 Club, which since 1942 has been famed for its democratic celebration of music of all genres. For those not lucky enough to manage to bag one of the free tickets, all the gigs in the ‘Represent’ series will be available to view through live streaming via the Converse Facebook page.
