To celebrate the re-release of some of the more iconic silhouettes from the original Air Max series Nike introduced Engineered Mesh, a new technology that instantly gave the classic models it adorned a totally new shape and style. The near one-piece upper and its innovative fabrication stripped weight and increased breathability whilst still allowing the original aesthetics of the shoe to shine through.
For the second wave of Engineered Mesh releases Nike take a different approach, with a range of tonal colourways each featuring ever popular speckled midsoles. Our favorite in the collection has to be the navy EM Air Max 97, a silhouette that wont be to everyone’s liking but that we feel should be celebrated in the same was as its elder siblings the AM1 and AM90 for what its original incarnation brought to the industry all those years ago.
Each created to represent an individual city around the globe, the latest Engineered Mesh series is available online and in selected size? stores now priced between £97 and £135.
