Blazer vs Blazer

The Nike Blazer has been around since the early 1970s and along with many of Nikes earlier models, has been fitted with a wide array of colours, involved in some great collaborations as well as superb special editions. Over the years we have seen SB models, the popular Vintage Suede editions, Low-cut releases and the focus of our attentions now; the Blazer ’77 edition. Some of you may be thinking that this isn’t the Blazer we are all accustomed to over the last couple of years. And you’d be correct. Designed for basketball, the Nike Blazer ‘77 was originally presented with a clean leather upper and a vulcanised sole, as well as small strips of suede just above the midsole, one of the main distinguishing features of the ’77 model. First released with a low to mid ankle support, this model takes a slightly higher and slimmer silhouette, whilst still utilising the unmistakeable suede panelling. Incorporating the famous herringbone sole unit, a full grain premium leather upper and the cut foam tongue, the Blazer ’77 has also been subject to Nike’s trademark vintage process. A classic and also more mature take on the great Blazer design. Available in selected size? stores and online now, priced at £80.
